Independence Day Celabration
Robinwood Estates is excited to celebrate Independence Day with our neighbors with a parade for children up to the age of 12 and a picnic for everyone. In the past, this annual event has been great fun for the kids and adults alike. Please line the streets for the parade–the kids love it.
The Parade
Children in the neighborhood are invited to participate in the parade with registration/check-in beginning at 9:30 AM at 2205 N. Knightsbridge Ave. (Marilyn Chalupa’s house). You can access the registration form for the parade by going to the end of this section and clicking on the button. At 10:00 the judging will begin for the best costume, pet decoration, and bike, scooter, etc. decoration. The parade will begin at 10:30 and follow Coventry Dr. east to Ivanhoe, west on Friar, and south on Moors. The parade will end at 2208 N. Moors St. (David Williams house) for the picnic and the awarding of prizes.
The Picnic
The picnic will begin immediately after the Parade and all residents of Robinwood are invited to wear their red, white, and blue and enjoy hot dogs and other foods as they renew acquaintances and meet new neighbors. Drinks, hot dogs, buns, condiments will be provided. To help, bring a side dish or dessert to share.
Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed to make this annual neighborhood event successful. Without your help, we cannot provide this fun time for the children and adults in our neighborhood.
We need people to bring food for desserts such as cookies, brownies, Rice Krispy bars, etc. and side items such as baked beans, mac and cheese, and chips.
We also need three judges to judge parade entries and three people to help with registration/check-in at the beginning of the parade–2205 N. Knightsbridge Ave.
If you can volunteer to bring food or help with judging and registration, please send an email to robinwoodmuncie@gmail.com by Friday, June 23.
